Open Dutch Championships 2009

Great racing  in Dutch Championships 2009

10 races, 34 boats, good competition .

Matthias Dietz (GER) on the Nikita was the surprise winner of the Dutch nationals 2009.

With variable and often shifty winds from 5 to 20 knts Catclub Hellecat executed a perfect championship.  Why do we only sail 9 races at a world championship , while 10 races in three days can be done at the Dutch Nationals ?

Dutch Nationals 2008

Dutch Nationals  2008

Win by Guido Shulte (GER), 2nd : Chris Field (GBR),3rd: Roeland Wentholt (NED)

Held over three days on 23-25 august , 9 races were sailed in great 8-18knts winds .

Competition was close , often with 6 or more boats in seconds of each other after three laps .

Guido Shulte , sailing the Geltek flyer and a new Ashby 2008 sail really found the groove downwind.

Often on the last downwind he just grabbed  a few boats and scored his good results.
